Caretakers was started in 1975 by Don Crowley. After working several years for a landscape contractor he set off on his own. His vast knowledge of landscape construction and training from installation to maintenance is far from average.

After being in business for 34 years we are still considered a small company employing 12-14 people during the busy season. This gives us the ability to be customer oriented. Although we are small company we serve the entire west Michigan area from Petoskey down to Benton Harbor and as far east as Lansing for Residential and as far as Detroit for commercial.

About 10 years ago Don decided he wanted to grow the business even more and hired Brian Demminks formally of Demmink's Nursery in Byron Center. This gave Caretakers the ability to take on larger projects without affecting the quality of the work.
