Two Cascade home invasions in two days
Crime

Cascade Township has had two home invasions in the same neighborhood in two days, according to Julie Vogelzang of the East Precinct of the Kent County Sheriff’s Department.  This occurred in the Burton Pointe Association located in the northeast corner of the Burton and Spaulding intersection.  The development is accessed off of both Burton and Spaulding.

The first incident occurred on November 14 between the hours of 4:30 pm and 7:15 pm near the 2300 block of Burton Pointe Blvd.  The house was entered by force by breaking a window.   Multiple items of value were taken.   Volgelzang says there are no suspects or leads at this time.

The second incident occurred on November 15 around 4:30 pm also near the 2300 block of Burton Point Blvd.   This second residence was entered by force by breaking a large glass door.  The owners happened to be home and scared the suspect off.

The Sheriff’s Department is warning residents to be aware of strange vehicles in the area.  Report all vehicles you believe to be out of place.  Also, if someone is knocking at your door asking for someone who doesn't reside there, selling a product, or generally seems out of place call the Sheriff’s Department immediately.

You can call 911 or the non-emergency line at 616-632-6100.
