Two Grand Rapids Township homes are burglarized

GRAND RAPIDS TOWNSHIP, MI - Two Grand Rapids Township homes have been burglarized in the past 10 days, according to the East Precinct of the Kent County Sheriff’s Department.

The first home invasion occurred in the 3400 block of Hoag Avenue NE.  Forced entry was made to a back door of the house and garage. Nothing was removed from the house.  However, yard equipment was taken from the garage.  The victim filed the report on January 16, but the exact time of the break-in is not known.

Then on January 23 around 6:30pm, a break-in was reported in the 50 block of the East Beltline SE in Grand Rapids Township.  The suspect(s) broke into the house through one of the back doors and exited out the front door next to the garage.  At the time of the report, the victim did not notice anything stolen.  The East Precinct reports that suspect evidence was found on scene.  A K-9 unit was called, and it appears suspect(s) escaped in a car.

Both investigations are ongoing.
