Art Prize Submission by members of the Forest Hills Community

Art Prize Submission by members of the Forest Hills Community

Created by Forest Hills community members ranging in age from young children to senior adults, this collaborative piece shows the unifying power of our individual stories and universal expressions of love.

Over 7,000 sticks were decorated by over 7,000 Forest Hills elementary students, teachers and adults in honor of someone important to each artist. Each stick was gathered from nature and was carefully decorated with paint, yarn, feathers and beads in honor of someone important to the artist. They are an expression of love and represent an individual memory or story. Together they form a harmonious chorus despite the differences in their designs.
