Meet Author Rhoda Janzen at Cascade Branch of Kent District Library

Dr. Rhoda Janzen, author of Mennonite in a Little Black Dress, will visit the Cascade Township branch of Kent District Library on Thursday, May 5. She will speak and answer questions from 9:30 - 10:30 am. A book signing will take place at 10:30 am, followed by brunch at 11:00 am. Tickets for the author talk only are $5 and tickets for the event and brunch are $10. Please register for the brunch by calling 784-2007. Payment is accepted at the door.

Mennonite in a Little Black Dress is a funny and moving memoir about a woman who returns home to her close-knit Mennonite family after a personal crisis. Written with wry humor and huge personality, the book tackles faith, love, family, and aging.

Rhoda Janzen holds a PhD from the University of California, Los Angeles, where she was the Poet Laureate in 1994 and 1997.

Spring into the Past with a Tour of West Michigan Small Museums

April 30th and May 1st, 2011

Saturday and Sunday from 11am to 5pm.

The Cascade Historical Society will participate in the tour of 22 Small Museums located along

the Flat River, Grand River and Thornapple River. The museum will be open the days and times noted.
