Cascade is jump starting the Metro Cruise

CASCADE, MI - Cascade is hosting a “Warm-Up Party” for the Metro Cruise on Thursday, August 25 at the Cascade Village Family Fare Plaza parking lot by the Goodwill store.  The Metro Cruise Warm-Up will provide music by Aardvark Stew, which will include folk, rock, blues, soul and funk.  There will be some classic cars, food booths, farm booths for the kids, and booths hosted by area businesses.  The festivities will run between 6pm and 9pm. 

Cascade business owners would like to bring classic cars into the village's downtown area.  In the past, car enthusiasts tended to turn around at Pal's Dinner, which is on the edge of the the downtown.  The event is sponsored by the Forest Hills Business Association and underwritten by the Cascade Community Foundation.

Has a Cascade Township librarian made a real difference in your life? Have they gone above and beyond the call of duty to provide top-notch customer service and excellent programming? Show your appreciation by nominating them for a meaningful award!

Nominations for the national Carnegie Corporation of New York /New York Times I Love My Librarian Award will be accepted through September 12 and can be submitted online.

The award invites library users nationwide to nominate librarians in public libraries, as well as those in school and academic libraries. It is an opportunity for patrons to share how librarians improve the lives of people in their communities.

August in Ada Children's Fair to take place Friday

August 5, 10:00 a.m. - 2:00 p.m.

LOCATION: The Village Green at 7215 Headley Street, located in the green space between Headley and Fulton streets (across from Amway Corporation).

PARKING: Parking is available throughout the Village of Ada, including Headley Street, Thornapple River Drive, and select merchants along Ada Drive.

ATTENDING: There is no admission cost and all crafts, games and rides are free!  A hot dog lunch with chips and pop will be available for $2.00.  Snow cones, ice cream and water will also be available for purchase.

Music on the Lawn features Beatles tribute band

ADA, MI -  The Ada Historical Society will present the Nowhere Band at a special time and special day. The Beatles tribute band will present their music beginning at 6:30pm on  Friday, July 29 on the Averill Historic Museum’s lawn, which is at 7144 Headly in Ada.  This is part of the society's Music on the Lawn concert series.  The event is open to the public.  Grab your lawn blanket or chair and enjoy the sounds of summer at Music on the Lawn!  The Nowhere Band concert begins at 6:30pm and all other concerts start at 7pm.
