A few specific crimes to report:

05/13/11: Overnight: A damage to property crime occurred in the 1500 block of Lamberton Lake in Grand Rapids Twp.   There are no leads or suspects at this time.

05/14/11: Overnight: An attempted Home Invasion occurred in the 7100 block of Placita in Cascade Twp.  A subject attempted to gain entry into the home but was scared off. The suspect has been apprehended.

05/15/11:0315 hours: A Breaking and entering occurred at Tuffy, located at 6846 Cascade Road in Cascade Twp. Forced entry was made into the business. The business sustained property damage and stolen items. There are no leads or suspects. We know the specific time as there was an alarm drop at the business. Officers were disregarded prior to arrival citing a false trip of the alarm.

05/17/11: Up to two weeks prior: A Home Invasion occurred in the 3500 block of Brandau in Grand Rapids Twp.

Over the weekend, there was a breaking and entering of a business in the 550 block of Cascade West Parkway in Cascade Twp. Entry was gained by breaking out windows. Items taken were a large amount of cell phones and accessories, computers, and cash. 

East Precinct deputies have solved some business larcenies from the east area and Kentwood. Suspects were going into local hotels and stealing TV's from lobbies and common areas. Warrants are currently being sought. The most recent event occurred at the Crowne Plaza in Cascade Township. 

The East Precinct received a report of attempted larcenies of vehicles being in the 900 block of Clifford Av SE in Grand Rapids Twp, between Ada Dr and Cascade Rd. The caller advised someone appeared to have gone through the neighborhood cars the night of Tuesday, April 26. A witness observed two men walking down the street many nights after 11:00 p.m.

KCSD East Precinct looking for woman who witnessed indecent exposure

The Kent County Sheriff's Department is looking for an individual who witnessed an indecent exposure on Wednesday around 10:45/11am at the D&W located at 6425 28th St SE in Cascade Twp. A female reported seeing this event to a fire inspector in the area but then left, advising she needed to pick up her children. We believe we have identified the subject reported by the female but we need the help of her to follow through with the case.

CASCADE, MI – This is a good reminder to roll up the windows of your vehicles and keep the doors locked even during the day. 

A car parked in Tassel Park in Cascade on Tuesday, March 29 was targeted by a thief in the middle of the afternoon.  The victim’s window was down about three inches.  The suspect was able to reach in, unlock and open the door, and take the victims purse and cell phone.  The larceny occurred between 1:45pm and 2:10pm. Tassel Park is located on Thornapple River Drive near downtown Cascade.

Suspect Arrested for a Series of Break-ins in the East Metro Area

A suspect has been arrested for a series of break-ins in the East Metro Area of Grand Rapids and Kent County.

Earlier this week, My Town reported on tools being stolen during a break-in of a shed on the 5600 block of East Fulton SE in Ada.  On March 31, 2011, two Kent County deputies interviewed a male suspect for that break-in.  While interviewing the suspect they determined that he was involved in five home invasions in the eastern part of Kent County and Grand Rapids.

Cascade & Ada seeing more car break-ins in recent weeks

CASCADE, Mich. (WZZM) - According to officials from the Kent County Sheriff Department East Precinct, daytime larcenies continue to occur in the Cascade and Ada areas.

Some of the locations police have been invesitgating the vehicle break-ins have been near Big Steps Little Feet daycare center, Starbucks in Ada, and at Snap Fitness on Cascade Rd.

Investigators say they're also seeking information about a home invasion that occurred in the 2800 block of Big Timber Dr. In Grand Rapids Township on March 21, and a breaking and entering of a business in the 6500 block of 28th St. in Cascade Township shortly after midnight on March 18.

ADA, MI - A shed in the 5600 block of East Fulton in Ada Township was broken into over the weekend, according to the East Precinct of the Kent County Sheriff's department.  The owner reported that numerous tools were stolen.  If you have any information, call the Kent County Sheriff's department.
