Ada and Cascade offering hazardous waste collection day | Environment

Ada and Cascade townships are jointly hosting a hazardous waste collection day. Township residents who want to get rid of household chemical waste will get the chance on Saturday July 14.
The townships are using Kent County’s Household Hazardous Waste Program. The program will accept the following chemicals: weed killer, oil-based paint, anti-freeze, gasoline, bug sprays, wood preservatives, paint thinners, deck cleaners, pool chemicals, fluorescent light bulbs, mercury thermometers and thermostats.
The program will NOT accept latex paint, medical waste, pharmaceuticals, fireworks and ammunition.
The collection site is the Cascade Buttrick Fire Station at 2990 Buttrick Avenue. The Hours; 9am – 1pm. This is only open to Ada and Cascade residents, so bring a driver’s license to prove you live in one these two communities.
