GRAND RAPIDS (WZZM)- WZZM and Meijer are pleased to recognize Forest Hills Central senior Taylor Thewes as our Meijer Scholar Athlete of the Week for the week of May 7th.
Taylor is a pitcher and infielder for the Ranger baseball team and owns a career pitching record of 18-2 at FHC. He was a member of last year's varsity squad that reached the regional final round of the state playoffs.
Away from the diamond, Taylor is an amateur filmmaker and tells WZZM he plans to study film at Vassar College in New York state. His film entry "Winter's Flower" was the 2011 winner of the Kent District Library Teen Film Festival. Taylor tells us his favorite movies include most anything by Wes Anderson along with the classics "The Graduate" and "Annie Hall."
An excellent student, Taylor owns a 4.1 GPA and has been on the honor roll every semester of high school. He also serves as his senior class president.
WZZM and Meijer congratulate Taylor Thewes for his hard work and wish him continued success!
