Representative Dillon was invited to visit and tour Northern Trails 5/6 by Timothy Burdick, one of his constituents and a 6th grade Spanish immersion teacher at Northern Trails.

             State Rep. Ken Yonker has scheduled two town hall meetings in the coming weeks, to listen to resident questions, concerns, and suggestions regarding state government.

            "I know people have lots of opinions and ideas about the way things are going and what we need to do to move Michigan forward, and I'm very interesting in hearing from the folks in my district," said Yonker, R-Caledonia. "I hope to see many residents there.  However, anyone unable to attend can contact my office directly at 888-DIST-072 to share their thoughts with me."

            The first town hall meeting will take place on Thursday, April 21, from 6 to 8 p.m. at the Gaines Charter Township Hall, located at 8555 Kalamazoo Ave. SE.

Cascade Township will combine precincts for May 3 election

CASCADE, Mich. (WZZM) - Cascade Township officials say they are expecting a light turnout for the May 3 elections so they've decided to combine four voting precincts into two.

Dr. James Fahner, the board president, is the only candidate seeking the lone vacancy on the Forest Hills Public board.

For the May 3 election, precincts 3 and 4, which vote at the Kent District Library's Cascade branch at 2870 Jacksmith Ave. SE, will be combined, as will precincts 1 and 7, which vote at Cascade Fellowship Christian Church at 655 Cascade Road SE.

Open Gov Advances  as Ada Township Approves Open Gov Proclamation, Kent County Crime Goes Online

Two weeks ago, during Sunshine Week, the Ada Township Board was presented with a recommendation to adopt an "Open Government Proclamation."  This week the Admin Committee, recommended and the Board unanimously approved an abbreviated version of the recommended proclamation.  The full text of the adopted proclamation can be found HERE.

CASCADE, Mich. (WZZM) - State Representative Ken Yonker, R-Caledonia, has scheduled a town hall meeting in Cascade Township to discuss Governor Snyder's proposed budget. Yonker will take questions, and listen to constituent suggestions.

The meeting will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 24, at the Wisner Center in the Cascade Township Library, 2870 Jacksmith Ave. SE.
