Walgreens is coming to Forest Hills

Walgreens is coming to Forest Hills

GRAND RAPIDS TOWNSHIP, MI - A Walgreens store is under construction in the Forest Hills neighborhood of Grand Rapids Township.

The 13,600 square foot facility is located near the intersection of Cascade Road SE and Forest Hill Avenue.  Walgreens will have a drive through pharmacy, retail space, and parking for 67 vehicles.

The township approved the rezoning for the project in early 2011 despite objections from area businesses and residents, who were concerned about increased traffic and duplication of services.  There is another Walgreens store less than four miles away in downtown Cascade.

GDK Construction of Holland is building the facility.  The project will be completed in early 2012, according to the GDK Construction web site.

Farmers Market had successful season

Farmers Market had successful season

ADA, MI - This is the third season for the new Ada Farmers’ Market, and it has been a successful one! The number of vendors for the Market this year has grown to 40 vendors and many of them have come back to Ada every year since the first season.

There have also been some changes in the Market. Credit and debit cards, plus EBT/Bridge cards are accepted for the purchase of market tokens. The tokens can be used to purchase goods in the Market and have been so popular that the Market had to order more tokens! In addition we sold nearly 200 Market baskets—so successful that they are sure to return for the 2012 season.

Hatatouille made its first appearance this season as a competition amongst the vendors for the best hat!
