Photo Gallery | Knapp Charter Academy 6th graders paint the Big 'O' for Olivia's Gift
Sixth graders at Knapp Charter Academy recently visited Olivia’s Gift, a nonprofit residential living facility for adults with severe disabilities, to create an art piece with some of the residents. Together, they painted the Big ‘O’ with words of love and encouragement to decorate the new facility being built.
Earlier this school year, the sixth grade business teams developed a product - a keychain - that they sold, and donated proceeds from the sale to Olivia’s Gift. Each business team had a manager who oversaw product development, sales people who sold the finished product, and producers who made the product. The students considered cost strategies, market strategies and determined which charity would receive money raised by product sales. The students and staff look forward to seeing the relationship with Olivia’s Gift grow for years to come.
